Summer 2015

Summer brings beautiful weather and hay making season! While no one wants to think about the winter to come, we have to prepare and summer is the time. Below are the steps to making haylage—which is hay that is wrapped while it’s still green rather than dried. We make a first crop, then we let it grow and the cattle graze it. In a good year like this we make a second crop and then let it grow and the cattle graze it.
